VISION

The list of the surgeries concerning plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery is quite long. From the correction of congenital disorders to repairing traumatic injuries; aesthetic surgery procedures to permanent treatment of wounds that do not heal, many important issues are included in this area of expertise.

The main reason why I chose to specialize in plastic surgery is that this branch is more innovative and allows creativity more than other branches. As a plastic reconstructive and aesthetic surgery specialist, I believe that the way to we can achieve better results depends on constantly renewing one-self and not being afraid of change, and taking patient rights and expectations into consideration. I find it important to live by this principle for attaining success in surgery and other matters.

In addition to being fully established in our everyday lives, aesthetic surgery is an issue that has philosophical implications. Simply put, all surgical methods that are performed to make the human body “more beautiful” can be defined as aesthetic surgery. On the other hand, when the human body is considered as an object of positive aesthetic perception (beauty perception), the subject becomes “relative”. Therefore, the answers to questions like “Beautiful to whom?” and “Beautiful compared to what?” are highly variable considering space, time and person.

There are generally accepted techniques, common norms and approaches in aesthetic surgery. However, none of these are “applicable to every patient under all circumstances”. An aesthetic surgeon aims to give the most pleasing results to the patient. Therefore, almost all aesthetic surgical procedures are specific to the patient and require a different approach for each patient. This becomes even more prominent in surgeries such as aesthetic face and nose surgeries.

“Surgical procedures” are performed in the operating room. Regardless of the procedure; there are key constituents to consider such as understanding the patient’s expectations correctly, correct planning, informing the patient with necessary information, and a healthy patient-doctor relationship to establish trust. I believe for a surgical process to yield a successful and long-lasting happy results, the entire process should be healthy as a whole.
